Bio-Amitriptyline
How does this medication work? What are its effects?
Amitriptyline belongs to the family of drugs called tricyclic antidepressants. It is used to treat depression. It acts on the central nervous system to elevate the mood of people with depression. There is evidence that this drug exerts a stabilizing effect on the rate of natural chemicals (neurotransmitters) in the body, including serotonin and norepinephrine. It may begin to work within 3 to 4 days of taking the medication, but its effects may take up to 30 days to manifest fully.
This medication is available under various brand names or in different presentations, or both. A specific brand of this medicine is perhaps not available in all forms or have been approved against all diseases discussed here.In addition, some forms of this medication may not be used against all diseases mentioned in this article.
